My research interests involve data analytics for software engineering particularly focusing on software metrics, software testing and reliability. I am interested in how software analytics can improve software engineering practices and help develop high quality software. Currently, my work involves mining software repositories such GitHub, SourceForge, version control systems such as Git, SVN, CVS to analyse log files, bug repositories such as JIRA & Bugzilla to collect bug reports. All these data are usually neglected and lying unused. However, this data can be leveraged to understand the current state of software processes, tools and practices. Analysis of this data can provide insights into software systems, problems commonly faced during the software development process and predict growth of complex systems. Furthermore, I am interested in applying statistical techniques on the data collected from large number of software systems to observe patterns which could be helpful for software engineering practitioners as well as researchers.
